SE Portland, OR - Canard PDX 6.23.18
We were looking for a night out in Portland exploring the restaurant scene. Canard PDX showed up on Alexis' radar as a must visit. It just opened in April 2018 and already has rave reviews and nothing less than four stars with an overall rating of 4.5. In all our dining experiences thus far this one tops our list.
It is a smaller space with very unique character. A few high top tables were in the front as you walked in, with seating at the bar and window, then smaller wooden tables towards the back. We cozied up to the hightop bar area at the window since the place was already pretty full at 6pm.
As usual we decide to share our plates, so we started with Ouefs en Mayonnaise. Then we were delivered the Foie Gras Dumplings, followed by dry-fried truffle honey chicken wings and finally the Duck Stack. All the dishes were unique and bursting with flavor. Of course we ended the meal with a Peanut Butter Fun cone and vanilla soft serve ice cream.
While the food was delicious it was the service that really made the whole experience. She was witty, sarcastic and kind with this stealthiness that caught me off guard a couple of times.
Canard PDX is a must if you are in Portland.
